It’s been 6 years since people in Belarus rose up against the dictatorship of Lukashenko and for months tried to get rid of the authoritarian regime through peaceful demonstrations, direct actions, strikes and acts of sabotage. The world has changed radically since that uprising with the situation in Belarus becoming even more precarious since russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
At this presentation, we are going to talk about the reality of resistance against Lukashenko’s regime and the russian empire from the anarchist perspective. We will also share the history of modern anarchism movement in a post-soviet Belarus and where it’s now.
