Join us on Wednesday, September 16th 6:30 PM, for a screening on “Blood Berries” by The Isaan Record [2025 | 52 mins | Thai with English subtitles]

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Hathairat Phaholtap, the film’s director and Editor-in-chief of The Isaan Record, who is visiting Finland during September.

The 2025 documentary depicts experiences of Thai migrant berry pickers working in Finland and Sweden. Over the past decades, more than 100,000 Thai workers have fallen victim to human trafficking networks – suffering losses worth tens of billions of baht (about $305 million).

This documentary is the result of three years of data collection and fieldwork by The Isaan Record, an independent media, telling the stories of workers trafficked to the berry forests of Finland and Sweden, where many were exploited and treated as slaves.

The event is free of charge; however, we will be collecting donations for the berry pickers’ labour union to support their fight for justice.
